A timeless tradition and Albemarle County’s signature steeplechase racing event, the historic Foxfield Races return with its Fall Races event on Sunday, October 5. The Fall Races are a tradition for friends and families, featuring a Vendor Village, Children’s Tent with FREE activities for all ages, and a variety of food and beverage options.

Foxfield will once again partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, which will receive a portion of proceeds from tickets sold and additional philanthropic support from Foxfield’s corporate sponsors. Through its continued partnerships with Camp Holiday Trails and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, Foxfield Races has reinvested over $440,000 back into the community since 2021.

Tickets are on sale now with various pricing options available. General admission tickets start at $50 now through September 15 (prices increase to $60 on September 16). Free admission for children age 12 and under. The popular Foxfield 4-Pack (includes free parking) will again be available this year. WHAT’S THE EXPERIENCE LIKE?
- Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and the first race begins at 12 p.m. (races run rain or shine).
- Kick off the race day excitement with the Parade of Beagles presented by Farmington Beagles, and the Parade of Hounds presented by the Farmington Hunt Club.
- A Vendor Village, food trucks, Children’s Tent and Truck Touch featuring an antique fire truck, trash truck and many more will all be open beginning at 10 a.m.
- The Children’s Tent (sponsored by Virginia Tent Rental) will feature:

- Free Union Country Day School – Stick Ponies made with environmentally friendly, 100% recyclable materials
- Be a CBS19 Junior Reporter

FOXFIELD’S HISTORY & COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY SPORT
Foxfield, which most recently hosted the Spring Races event on April 26, hosts nationally recognized steeplechase races in the heart of Virginia, giving residents and visitors alike the opportunity to witness spectacular horse racing and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. In 1977, Mariann de Tejeda generously purchased the property for the Foxfield Racing Association and designed and built the race course. Today, the bi-annual races host upwards of 17,000 attendees and feature a strong field of horses and riders, free fun for friends and family of all ages, vendor village, local food trucks and more.
Foxfield Races has given back to the local community from the earliest days, and its dedication to continuing the tradition is strong. Foxfield is committed to not only monetarily supporting its philanthropic partners after race day, but actively engaging in their programs and work throughout the year, celebrating and supporting their community work by amplifying their messages, and spreading their missions to a broader community. The Foxfield Races spring partner is Camp Holiday Trails, and fall partner is Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, with a special focus on their Southwood neighborhood.
Foxfield has continued to enhance its reputation and prominence within the steeplechase racing community, now welcoming patrons and jockeys alike from across the country and overseas to its annual spring and fall events. The 2026 Spring Races will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
