Camp Holiday Trails, which has collectively received $173,247 from the races since 2022, will once again be a recipient of support from race day proceeds.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT FOXFIELD RACES
Foxfield, which most recently hosted the Fall Races event on October 6, hosts nationally recognized steeplechase races in the heart of Virginia, giving residents and visitors alike the opportunity to witness spectacular horse racing and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. In 1977, Mariann de Tejeda generously purchased the property for the Foxfield Racing Association and designed and built the race course. Today, the bi-annual races host upwards of 17,000 attendees and feature a strong field of horses and riders, free fun for friends and family of all ages, vendor village, local food trucks and more. The Fall Races will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
The stature of Foxfield Races has continued to elevate within the steeplechase racing community. Foxfield recently celebrated being one of the racetracks associated with the ascent of Snap Decision, the 2024 Steeplechase Horse of the Year announced last month at the annual Eclipse Awards in Palm Beach, Fla. Snap Decision ran in Race 6 of the Foxfield Fall Races on October 6, 2024.
“Through our improvements to the track and increased purses, we’ve been able to bring more horses, more competition to the races, and the public and race enthusiasts alike are taking notice as the stature of Foxfield in the steeplechase world continues to grow,” said Foxfield Races Executive Director, Marian Fife, who stepped into the role earlier this year.
A Charlottesville native, Fife took her first riding lessons on the Foxfield property and attended the inaugural races in 1978. Prior to joining Foxfield, Fife established a successful career in real estate at McLean Faulconer. She was drawn to Foxfield’s goals of preserving open space, promoting the tradition of steeplechase racing, and providing financial support to its charitable partners, and looks forward to playing a role in ensuring that Foxfield continues to prosper as a community asset into the future.
